03 — Performance Testing & Athlete Profiling

Don’t Guess.
Measure.

A professional testing assessment for footballers, basketball players and athletes in every sport — built on the procedures and technology used in professional football and high-performance sport. Objective data on your physical qualities, a clear picture of your strengths and gaps, and a programme direction that follows from the numbers.

Why test

Objective Data.
Not Opinions.

You can train hard for months and still not know whether the things you are trying to improve have actually improved. Testing replaces that uncertainty with numbers — and, more importantly, with a decision about what to do next.

01 Professional standards

The same testing procedures and protocols used in professional football and high-performance sport, run properly and consistently.

02 Technology-led

VALD ForceDecks force plates and GymAware velocity tracking, with Microgate WittyPro timing gates and GPS monitoring coming soon. See the equipment →

03 A full physical profile

Strength, power, explosiveness, speed, acceleration, jump performance and inter-limb asymmetry, assessed in a single session.

04 An individual report

A written report you keep: your numbers, what they actually mean, and the physical qualities to prioritise next.

05 It guides the programme

Results feed straight into training — whether you train with Power For Speed or take the report to your own coach.

06 Re-testing and monitoring

Re-test after a training block to confirm the change is real, then adjust what comes next on evidence rather than feel.

More than numbers

Data That Informs Training.

You aren’t simply handed a collection of numbers. Testing is there to answer five questions — and the answers shape the training that follows.

  1. Where are you now?
  2. What are your strengths?
  3. What needs developing?
  4. How should we train it?
  5. Are you actually improving?

Professional-grade technology used in elite sport — and what each one actually tells us about you.

Force plates

VALD ForceDecks

Force plate testing, jump performance, reactive strength, force production and asymmetry monitoring.

How it helps athletes
  • Shows exactly how you produce force — not just how high you jump
  • Flags left–right asymmetries before they become a problem
  • Tracks neuromuscular readiness and fatigue across a training block
GymAwarePhoto coming soon
Velocity-based training

GymAware

Strength, power and velocity-based training assessments.

How it helps athletes
  • Measures bar speed and power on every rep
  • Builds your individual load–velocity profile
  • Sets training loads from data, adjusted to how you are performing on the day
Microgate WittyPro Timing GatesPhoto coming soon
Electronic timing

Microgate WittyPro Timing Gates

Professional electronic timing for sprint testing, acceleration, split times and change-of-direction assessments.

How it helps athletes
  • Photocell timing accurate to fractions of a millisecond
  • Split times show where a sprint is won or lost — first steps, acceleration or top speed
  • Objective change-of-direction and agility results you can re-test

GPS Athlete MonitoringPhoto coming soon
Load monitoring

GPS Athlete Monitoring

Monitoring external training demands and supporting individualised physical preparation.

How it helps athletes
  • Quantifies running loads, high-speed distance and sprint efforts
  • Matches gym work to the demands of training and matches
  • Helps manage load to support performance and reduce injury risk

Questions

Before You Book.

Who is testing for?
Athletes in any sport, at any level, plus clubs and squads who want their players profiled. You do not need to train with us to be tested.
Do I have to train with Power For Speed afterwards?
No. Plenty of athletes test here and take the report back to their own coach or club. The report is written to be shared.
How long does an assessment take?
It depends on the tests chosen for you. Message Dion with your sport and goals and he’ll confirm the battery and timings before you book.
What do I actually get?
An individual performance report with your results, what each measure means for you, your strengths, your gaps and the qualities to prioritise.
How often should I re-test?
Usually at the end of a training block. Re-testing too often tells you about noise; too rarely and you find out too late.
Do you test whole squads?
Yes. Squad and team testing days are available, with a comparative report for coaching staff. Get in touch for a quote.
